Q: Does UFE treat endometriosis?

A: Unfortunately not. Endometriosis often gets confused with fibroids and adenomyosis, however, they are not the same thing. Here’s why:

👉 Endometriosis happens when the tissue that normally lines the uterus, starts to grow outside the uterus onto the ovaries, fallopian tubes or the intestines.

👉 Fibroids are benign tumors growing in or on the uterine wall.

👉 Adenomyosis happens when cells start to grow inside the muscles of the uterus.

Patients wanting to treat endometriosis should seek further medical advice from their gyne. UFE, however, is a permanent, non-invasive treatment for fibroids and adenomyosis that preserves the uterus. Get in touch to learn more: www.fibroids.co.za
