Q: What is the chance of UFE damaging my ovaries?

A: This is a rare complication, usually seen in women approaching menopause and in whom ovarian reserve is reduced. The risk of this procedure causing permanent ovarian dysfunction internationally is around 4%. Studies have however shown that the risk to the ovaries is similar compared to after any other pelvic surgery.
