How are blocked fallopian tubes diagnosed?

To determine if your fallopian tubes are blocked, your doctor may suggest a laparoscopy or a hysterosalpingogram (HSG). During an HSG examination, a special ‘dye’ called contrast is injected into the uterus by a small catheter through the cervix. X-rays are then taken to confirm if there are any blockages. If the dye flows freely into the abdomen, then the fallopian tubes are not blocked 🙌
