In light of #EndometriosisAwarenessMonth, we’re tackling a question we’re often asked by our patients. What is the difference between fibroids and endometriosis?
👉 Endometriosis is when the inner lining of the uterus (called the endometrium) begins to grow outside of the uterus, like the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or pelvic tissue.
👉 Uterine Fibroids are benign muscular growths that occur within the walls of the uterus.
While both can similarly cause menstrual irregularity and pelvic pain, they are two entirely different conditions. Visit our website www.fibroids.co.za for more!
